7th of September 2024.  A great attendance once again this year for our annual Ramble in Galbally this year.

This is a  great opportunity to showcase one of Irelands tidiest villages and the beautiful walks only a few steps from the village square. This event would not take place without the continued support of The Morning Ramblers retirememt walking group. Again we are really thankful to everyone who turned up on the day and especially Eileen Hurley with twenty three members of the Ballyhoura Bears Walking Club. This year we were also delighted to have Gealdine and the Hospital Walking group join us for the first time and let it be the first of many we hope.

participants came as far away as Kanturk, Newtownshandrome, Featherd and Nenagh. Also where would we be without Joe O'Brien our photographer from Ballyhea who has never missed a Ramble.

We have to thank our sponsors Tipperary Co. Council, McCormaics Pharmacy Ballylanders, Mary Murphy and Trish O'Donohhue for the three huge hampers and the constant flow of people who brought spot prizes and especially everyone who baked buns, tea bracks and cakes ,everyone who made a donation on the day and online. Also we want to thank Ballyhoura Heritage for the trojen work they did strimming the pathways around Darby's Bed for us. Secondly our hats go off to John Blackburn who toiled hard over the previous week on his farm land to have the new Jim Fahy Loop ready for last Saturday.

Plenty tae/coffee and cake in the hall welcomed the walkers back to base. Some great new friendships were made on the day with people exchanging phone numbers and promises were made to meet each other soon again.
